The 3rd Edition in the Hairitage Chronicles series, will be held on 7th October at the Ngong Racecourse Jockey Club in Nairobi. The event, whose dress theme is “Bohemian”, has been put together to offer an unforgettable afternoon shopping experience. It will host over 40 vendors from across the natural industry. Guests will be able to interact one-on-one with the brand owners, which would in turn help them understand the products & services on offer.
The Hairitage series, has previously attracted interest from small businesses from other East African Countries namely Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania. In terms of attendees previous instalments have attracted over 500 attendees. In edition 3.0 the event will aim to attract over 1,000 culturally diverse guests from across Kenya in this instalment.
A SEAT AT THE TABLE
There will be a panel discussion dubbed “A Seat at The Table”. The title is taken and inspired by Solange Knowles’ 3rd Album released in September 2016. An album that focuses on her personal testament to black experience and culture. The Hairitage Chronicles 3.0 panel discussions will revolves around issues affecting Naturalistas such as natural hair care, beauty, fashion, fitness and our overall well being individuals. The session will allow attendees to be more informed about various aspects of their lives.
The moderator will be non other than Wambui JL, the Founder and Creative Director of Hairpolitan Lifestyle Magazine. She will engage in discussion the natural industry’s leading lights namely:
- Sheila Ndinda Natural hair and beauty vLogger under African Tresses and Treats
- Nina Odongo Director of Fitness company Body by Nina
- Vikky Wambui – Natural hair enthusiast and blogger under the brand Napspiration
- Sharon Malonza – Founder of the YouTube Channel My Kenyan Puff
- Lynn Gitahi – Natural Hair vLogger under the brand Afrosheri
- Amina Jasho of The Workshop Company
HAIRITAGE 3.0 MEET & GREET
There will be a Meet & Greet session led by Winnie Dande, of Dande Styles. She will chat with Kenya’s top bloggers in the fashion, hair and beauty sectors. They will be asked to give styling tips prior to the event and on the day of the event.
THE MAN CAVE
In order to not leave the men behind, Mandevu Beard Care will be creating a man cave. At the man cave men will be encouraged to converge and have conversations about taking care of beards and other grooming tips.
All shopping, talking and no party will make jill a dull girl! The organisers have put together an after party that will aim to bring a wonderful day to a great close. Everyone will let loose and dance the night away.

The Hairitage concept was launched in November 2016 by the founding members of Nurtured Knotts. group a natural hair group with the aim of celebrating diversity in hair, beauty and natural well being of individuals. The event is in partnership with Marini Naturals, Mikalla Hair Essentials, The Curragh Irish Pub & Bistro, Natural Hair Kenya and The Mandevu Care.
