This weekend, the Hair, Beauty and Personal Care Expo 2016 is on and is a must attend for all current and aspiring Naturalistas. The expo is jam packed with things that you love from shopping for natural goodies, to meeting up with fellow Naturalistas, learning and sharing about products and services that are readily available in the market- Hair and Skin care, Make-up and nail Beauty.
Carol Ngige, a Natural herself, through her company Beauty Bee, is organizing the event, which is in its second year. Her company started out by locally manufacturing mother and baby related products, then grew into organizing Kenya’s premier Parent & Child event- Baby Banda, that has been run successfully for many years now. We, therefore, should know we’re in expert hands as far as event organization and management goes.
The Hair, Beauty and Personal Care (HBPC) Expo is a must attend this year because Marini Naturals, is hosting the Style with Natural Hair panel discussion that will take place in Saturday 20th August 2016 from 2.15PM. The company decided to sponsor the panel as the brand holds the belief they need to look for unique and engaging platforms to educate and empower more women about their natural hair. “We are on a mission to demystify all notions that natural hair is not beautiful, professional or attractive,” says Michelle who will be one of the panelists and is the brainchild behind Marini Naturals, Kenya’s First Quality Natural Hair-care Line.
The product line, which means ‘Naturally Attractive’ in Kiswahili, came about after a pivotal moment in Michelle’s life in 2012, which led her to return to natural by undertaking the big chop. Her presence on the panel this Saturday certainly gives aspiring naturals a chance to ask and learn about that perceived difficult decision of starting the natural hair journey from scratch. She is also well placed to educate about how to find products that work for your hair using her experience in creating the Marini Naturals range.
The rest of the prolific panel will be made up of Stephen Omollo, a Trichologist at the Nairobi Hair Loss & Trichology Centre and Joanne Huguet who is a stylist & owner of the Waves & Lengths Salon. To further stoke this fire, there will be a surprise Natural Hair Blogger that can only be described as a humble, bubbly character who is always ready to share on all things Natural Hair! The moderator for this panel will be none other than, the renowned media personality and natural hair enthusiast, Patricia Kihoro.
Clearly, it will be a great opportunity for Naturalistas and aspiring naturals to understand various natural hair-care processes from transitioning, product selection, and styling to overall care of their manes. Michelle hopes that through the session, the panel will touch on a wide range of everyday hair topics that will encourage, inspire and demystify the natural hair lifestyle. “We hope to spread the message that you are naturally beautiful as you are!” quips the Style with Natural Hair hostess excitedly.
The Hair, Beauty and Personal Care Expo is taking place this weekend from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st August 2016 at the Sarit Centre Expo Hall in Nairobi and Entry is Free! The Style with Natural Hair panel discussion will be happening on Saturday 20th August 2016 from 2:15pm to 3:30pm.
